When you did the efile was you already set up in ATFs e file with password and stuff? Or did you do with silencer central. Getting ready to order Banish 30.
Thanks Jon

I may just go to the local Sheriff department and get my fingerprints done there that way I know they’ll be done right. They charge 20.00. I’m just concerned if I mess up the ink fingerprints then I’ll have to go through the process again and just add delays. So far I’ve been happy with Silencer Central.

I went through silencer central for everything. They set up my trust took all my information. They file it all electronically for you. I sent my fingerprints back a couple weeks ago. Took several weeks for the fingerprint card to get here. They say no more than 90 day turnaround …. We will see

I trust the electronic figure prints being done correctly more than the paper finger prints. I’ve done both electronic and sheriff’s ink finger prints for suppressors, concealed carry and professional licenses. Every electronic fingerprint I’ve done the last couple of years will reject your print on the spot and make the technician redo the print. At silencer shop they also save your electronic prints so you don’t have to do prints again for future orders. With current technology, ink fingerprints will be very rare in a few years.

the e file is still not working according to Cindy at SC.the ATF changed the rules again I bought mine on 12-13-2021 and it is still not filed. Cindy said the ATF does not want them filing for you and she is supposed to be calling all people from 11-31 what ever cyber Monday was and setting up phone appts so you can be on your computer with her or someone from SC and the ATF web Site to get thing done then who knows how long

update, got a call from SC walked me through the e-file system (I had already registered with the AFT a couple months ago and got a password and pin number if you have not you need to before they call you to finish the e-file. it seems they cannot e-file for you, you will have to do it with SC on the phone with you.ATF says you have to file. makes no sense to me and they claim 90 day turn around we'll see

I’m a little disappointed in Silencer Central. It took almost 2 weeks to get a fingerprint kit. It has been 3 weeks since they received my fingerprints and I’m still waiting for a call to take care of the e filing. Maybe they are understaffed and have to many orders, I don’t know but it’s still frustrating.

they only have a few people making calls and trying to hire more (you know how that is working) and when they did mine last week I had done my paper work there on 12-13-21 and they were calling everyone starting 11-29-21 first so it might take a bit to get to you the ones in the system come first as it should be so be patience

What was the documents I signed that Silencer Central emailed to me? They had it all filled out and I just signed them electronically. Is this what we have to do all over again with the ATF on the phone? Thanks

I’m also disappointed. I placed my order a couple days before Christmas and still haven’t even got the phone call from the “submissions team”
Everything has been slow thus far…
My friend ended up ordering with silencer central not long after I did and is thinking about cancelling his order and using a silencer shop kiosk at the local gun shop.
Seems like they are greatly overwhelmed…
Hopefully positive news to come

I too am waiting. Purchased, e signed their docs, filled out and returned the fingerprint packet. 3 weeks later got a text confirming they received everything. I have no clue if its been filed or what. Its a long, frustrating process, but I knew that before I even purchased.

I'm definitely behind on the latest methods, or as to what is going on with this e-file. But, can you e-file from the kiosk? It seems a little silly to have e-file, but still having to get paper fingerprints and photos done.

I may be wrong but I think when you use a kiosk the information you submit goes to SilencerCo and they do the E Filing. With Silencer Central they do all the paperwork and E file it to the ATF. My understanding now is the ATF does not want them to E file your documents and now they have to do it over the phone with who ever is applying. Definitely a little confusing right now.

I’m still waiting on a email or phone call from Silencer Central to complete this process. I did receive a email from them yesterday to do a review online and rate my experience and receive a free shirt. I haven’t filled out the survey because if I did it would not be positive. This whole ordeal is very frustrating because they sure didn’t make it sound like this over the phone.

Been 2 months and I’m still waiting on that phone call Erie…..
Yeah the salesman on the phone when I ordered made it sound like we had everything taken care of right then and there over the phone. Come to find out it’s been a pain in the [beeep] and to the best of my knowledge my stuff still hasn’t been submitted to the atf. Pretty disgusted

According to their website the average wait time is between 250-370 days unfortunately. My friend is over 370!
Question; does anyone who has purchased a second suppressor know if you have to do the fingerprint cards again? Reason I ask is I ordered my 2nd and haven't been sent the cards. Filled everything they sent me electronically and they said I'm good to go, just hurry up and wait.
They are a good company and always on top of things. I susly all this waiting is on totay ATF's end. Typical government efficiency.

P&Y I agree the longest delay is probably on the ATF end but they have to receive the paperwork first before their delay starts. As of right now the delay is on Silencer Centrals end. According to ChrisLD he’s been waiting 2 months after all his paperwork has been submitted to Silencer Central. This is adding further delay on top of the ATF delay, that’s the frustrating part of this whole thing. I would like to know if it’s the same if someone uses a Kiosk through SilencerCo.

I used the Individual trust with Silencer Central with the Kiosk. Did not get a reply as to when the ATF cashed check. I was not happy when I had sent SC everything, and then 2 weeks later letting me know they got everything and would be sending it off. I personally have not been able to prove if the individual trust is faster or not. time will tell. Later the same month of August 2021 I sent off for another stamp this time as an individual. Did not use SC this time. Last week checked with ATF,,, cashed check on November 17, 2021. WOW if it takes 10-12 months,,,,,from November? that's a long time.
Yes they have to have separate finger print cards for each submission. And photos too. It didn't used to be that way with a Trust. We did not have to be fingerprinted and photographed. That was part of the appeal of the trust. I did not go with my other trust since the law changed and I would have to have everyone on the trust (NOW) fingerprinted and sign papers. Everyone has to Now, have a background check. ATF did tell me this. Dang this has become way more difficult.

I did the survey a few weeks ago and still have not received my shirt. I have been trying to find any info on my efile on the ATF website but no luck just says no notices. right now waiting for a call from ATF to see if I can take my suppressor to So Africa and return with it, seems no one at customs, tsa or the state dept will say yes or no. sure hope the lady I finally got in touch with finally will have some good info. my 30.06 with an 18" barrel is very loud with out the can on it, even with muffs

Well here is an update. Talked with the ATF this am and they told me the Silencer central individual trust went through on Aug 24, 2021. I ask the man about how long was the time frame on present stuff? He said about 8 months. When I said, Oh cool! that will put me at the end of this month or possibly sometime next month. Wow did he ever start crawfishing! Well, well uh, now wait a minute you know. I laughed and said I wouldn't hold his feet to the fire on this one. Hahaha But seeing a glimpse of light hopefully. Hope its not a false hope. Time will tell and I will let you know... He would not come right out and answer me on the cashing of my money order. Remember the other form 4 was not cashed till November 17, 2021 and it was received on August 26, 2021. Dealer told me this morning that all the other customers have had to wait a year. We will see.

OK A new discussion with a different dealer this morning. They had the brand new Silencer Central setup. This latest and greatest is since January 2022. Mine was last year in 2021. I was told I would be lucky to get my stamp in a year. BUT !!! With the new system in place a man standing right there claimed it only took 78 days for completion. Two of the workers at the gun store said they could confirm this. He also has another paper trail going that has been over a year. Another customer was looking at dates and stated that his should be in the next few weeks. This is according to his paperwork that will be a year. He is waiting on 2 stamps. It been a crapshoot in some ways. Hopefully the NEW electronic system will keep going with no glitches.

I'm at almost a year and still waiting on three from Silencer Central. This is my first time using them. I have seven other cans using different shops and at most they only took 6 months. Silencer Central does a great job on the phone with you but they are slow as h311 getting your paper work sent in to the ATF. Doubtful I'd ever use them again.

The dealer I spoke with yesterday said that in 2021 Silencer Central sent the paperwork to a place other than the ATF. ( can't prove or disprove) Anyway according to him (the dealer), the paperwork went to 5 different places before it got to the ATF and this was using their E-file system. Wish I had solid proof of this.

I filed for my second suppressor through Silencer Central and the ATF efile on April 19, 2022. Heard all the 100 days or less stories. I’m still waiting. Tuesday will be day 154. My first can through them I did the old fashioned way and went from august 2020 to April 221.

Day 168 today waiting on my Banish 22. Have been reading the Efile system is running more toward 200 days. Something like 42,000 submissions in one month. It will happen eventually.

Purchased mine at a local shop but filed paperwork through silencer central. Seemed to me like a long drawn out process to finally get the paperwork submitted which was today. Now the wait really begins.

Stamp came in on Friday 10-21-2021 using the old method of paper filing. It was filed 2 weeks after the first Version of the E-file, ( two different suppressors) and the check cashed on NOV 17, 2021. 14 months. Aug to Oct

Looks like my April 19 efile submission has a few weeks to go yet. It’s for a 22 banish.

I bought a suppressor from Silencer Central in January 2022. My paperwork was finally submitted to the ATF in May. It took almost 5 months from the day I purchased the suppressor to be filed with the ATF. The paperwork was ready to be submitted in March but they had my City wrong so they had to correct that. It took them 5 more weeks to correct my City. That is unacceptable but I was already 5 months into the process so I was basically stuck. I know how you feel.

Just got the email today that my suppressor has been approved. I purchased it from Silencer Central on 1-18-2022. My paperwork was submitted on 5-4 2022. The first attempt to submit the paperwork was on 3-23-2021 but they made a mistake on my city and state. It took from 3-23-2021 to 5-4-2022 to correct the mistake they made and finally get submitted. I signed the 4473 form today, so hopefully in a couple weeks I’ll finally have it.

Both my experiences have been pretty good. The first time it did take them a while to get it submitted to the ATF, but I pretty much took the advice of buy it and forget about it till it shows up (14 or 15 months later). This time is was 24 days from purchase to submitted for both that are in jail, but this was the e form and they had all my previous info from the first purchase on file. Right now e form is at about 9 months, so I'll just plan on getting them for Christmas 2023 .

Unfortunately im out of state right now. Cant wait to get back and get that suppressor. Going to make shooting my .444 much more pleasant.

Finally received a shopping notice. 9 weeks from ATF approval to shipping!!! Ridiculous!!! Stay away from these liars! I had to send 5 emails to get a response then they tried to feed me a line of BS about the local LEO notice being the cause for the delay. Once I told them not to lie to me as I retired from this same LEO agency! Hahaha caught them red handed. They did not respond once I told them this info. This is my second and last dealing with Silencer central. Liars!!!!!!!!

Sorry to hear of your bad experience, but glad to hear your new suppressor is on the way home! He is not the only person to have a bad experience with Silencer Central. I will never order another suppressor from them. It took them 5 months from the day of purchase to get my paperwork submitted to the ATF. The reason it took 5 months was because when we were going over my information to submit to the ATF they had the city wrong where I lived. They said, we have to correct this before we submit it. It took them 5 Weeks to correct the city on my paperwork. So a total of 5 months to get submitted. Totally unacceptable and then they had the nerve to send a email for me fill out a review, lol.

I got two thru SC (both at the same time) and the experience was very good. Took about three weeks to assemble all the info and have it submitted to the ATF. I had a few questions along the way, and customer support was great!! my wait was around 10 months including the time for them to notify my local sheriff's dept and get back the mandatory 1 week wait time for the "no contest" document. Then about a week for shipping and delivery. Honestly couldn't have been happier

From 2017 thru 2021 NFA applications more than doubled, the government is slow with anything regarding information. As there is no data available for 2022 to today. Biden has directed all agency dealing with firearms, mining, fossil fuels to slow or delay data/processing of applications. Just think how simple it would be if the government would process by IDENTIFICATION instead of date received.

It actually doesn't go by date, you can send in two different form 4s in together on the same day and its possible they could have different ATF inspectors, and be approved at very different dates, happens all the time. Lots of them work from home, taking our unsecured private information with them to process. If your inspector has many in line in front of you, a good or bad work ethic, that can drastically change the waiting period.
