Are there any collars that are worth a crap without spending 2-300 bucks?

I have a rottie that does just fine at home.
When we go up to our utah property we turn him out to use the bathroom but he is severely prey driven and takes off down the road in search of squirrels.
He's never gotten lost but refuses to listen to commands and will often be out of earshot (for a human that is). Would like something that has a 1000 yard range at least and not have to be line of sight

Garmin is hands down the best. Spend the money and get a quality unit.

Thanks for your reply. If I was a serious houndsman and training hounds for a purpose
, I could see doing some serious coin.
I'm just trying to keep a stupid rotty from chasing squirrels. It's more of a nuisance than a necessity. He usually comes back....eventually.

I have been hunting with hounds for over 25 years. Garmin is best by far.
