Anybody have some reloading data for 90gr ELD-X in .243 winchester? I have H4350, IMR4350, 4064, 4155, Varget, RL17, etc.

Thanks

Working up a load now Andy using the Nosler 90 gr AccuBond, IMR4831 and Federal 210 primers. I will let you know the grain weight and how they shoot after I get it dialed in.

With regard to bullets in the 85-90g class for the 243 I have tried Varget, IMR4064, H414, IMR 4350, and few others but IMR 4831 gives the highest velocities by a full 100fps and the accuracy is really good. Another one I recently found that produces about the same velocities is Ramshot Hunter.

That is good to know CalCoyote. I have never owned a 243 but have been reloading for 40 years. This load I am working up is for a friend who bought a 243 for his daughter to use on Antelope and Deer. My goal is to get a sub-MOA, load using the 90 gr AccuBond. I will post results when I get one dialed in.

I’ve shot H4831sc in my 243 pushing 100gr sp for the last 10 years or so. Works great and still shoots under MOA.

I have a good load of 4451 shooting between 1/2 and 3/4. I've never tried ramshot powders but I'll give them a try this weekend.

Well, I finally got out with my buddy and his daughter's Winchester Model 70 243. I loaded up 4 loads using the Nosler 90 gr AccuBond. Using IMR 4831 I loaded 5 rounds each of 40.5 gr, 41 gr, 41.5 gr and 42 gr. Max load according to Nosler is 43.5 gr.

I set each COAL at 2.710". Range was 100 yards.

The 40.5 gr and 41 gr each shot about and inch grouping over 5 shots.

The 41.5 gr group shot a little over 1/2 inch with one flyer out about 3/4 of an inch.

The 42 gr group shot less than 1/2 inch with 3 bullets touching and one about 1/4 inch above those three. One bullet I pulled and was out about 1/2 inch from the other 4.

I was very excited and impressed with the 42 gr grouping and when I got home I loaded up 30 rounds of the 42 gr load for her to use on Antelope and Deer in a few weeks.

This Model 70 was built in 1967 and for a 52 year old rifle, it shot better than a lot of the new stuff you see on the market today.
