My son, a GT grad, wanted this type lanyard on his edc.
Left to right: lanyard knot, crown sinnet, diamond knot.

Here's a paracord lanyard made of 4-core fishtail weave + lanyard knot.

This is my 1st Spyderco and was a Christmas present from my son :

I like yours as is.. and like that its not captured in the knife, like mine are.
The Lanyard knot is excellent for tying off two strands.
The Diamond knot is good for tying off four strands (top pic right end).
There's a lil trick to making the 4 core fishtail above.

Here's what 80" camo cord looks like in a 4-core 3 1/2" cobra weave FOB:

the little nibs are all that was leftover from 80".

The rest is TMI, unless you're interested in this kind of stuff !

started with feeding cord through knife then adjust for overall FOB size.

cinch that first knot above, then weave a couple cobra knots.

then complete weaving the cobra knot down until only little loop ends remain.

had barely enough cord to finish with a lanyard knot.

Wow! Thanks Bob for the great post and the instructions. It’s been a stressful week so I’m going to pick up some paracord and attempt some of those on my other folders this weekend. I could use doing something like this to take my mind off things. I’ll post up some pics of my attempt.

Here's what 60" cord looks like in a "storage lanyard".
This DIY VIDEO shows the very simple method that I had to over complicate by going from 4 core to 8 core.
This is a quick deploy FOB and the easy QD unraveling is shown at the end of the video.

initial layout:

secret is to grab the 4 end loops at the initial layout with a hemostat-clamp and leave it in for removal at very last step:

Here's a quick deploy 80" cord FOB on one of my fixed blade hunters, made with trilobite weave.
It's a simple weave of single cord on a 4-core.
To deploy, undo the tag end at the arrow, then pull out the stopper knot on the far end.

initial layout:

started plus three weaves:

nearly done:

last step, locking line that is then tucked back in, see arrow on first pic.

finished by pulling the stopper knot to tighten up that inner loop, then shortened/re-tied the stopper knot.

Here's a light weight EDC CRKT folder with 3 feet of cord in snake knots finished off with a lanyard knot:

( CRKT-5580 H.U.G, internal frame Lock. )

a couple of my diy hunters with 50" and 80" cord in cobra/Solomon weave FOBs.
these were pass through loops in the lanyard holes so they can be easly moved to other knifes.

Good job!

I like the removable idea best.

Thanks RP, also like the removeable loop idea.
It's just some folders don't have large enough lanyard holes to get two cords through.
