Pretty fancy, not everybody can do that.

I have braided some bullwhips and that is a whole different story.

Here's a paracord lanyard made of 4-core fishtail weave + lanyard knot.

This is my 1st Spyderco and was a Christmas present from my son :

You could braid a pretty good whip if I could coach you for a while.

I did this one on my Mini Grip. But I really like the ones you did. I may have to attempt it!

I like yours as is.. and like that its not captured in the knife, like mine are.
The Lanyard knot is excellent for tying off two strands.
The Diamond knot is good for tying off four strands (top pic right end).
There's a lil trick to making the 4 core fishtail above.

Here's what 80" camo cord looks like in a 4-core 3 1/2" cobra weave FOB:

the little nibs are all that was leftover from 80".

The rest is TMI, unless you're interested in this kind of stuff !
---------------------------------------------------------------

started with feeding cord through knife then adjust for overall FOB size.

cinch that first knot above, then weave a couple cobra knots.

then complete weaving the cobra knot down until only little loop ends remain.

had barely enough cord to finish with a lanyard knot.

This new FOB has 10 snake knots made from 30" cord.
Knife was my trusted EDC for several years, a CRKT Apache ATS34:

Wow! Thanks Bob for the great post and the instructions. It’s been a stressful week so I’m going to pick up some paracord and attempt some of those on my other folders this weekend. I could use doing something like this to take my mind off things. I’ll post up some pics of my attempt.

Here's what 60" cord looks like in a "storage lanyard".
This DIY VIDEO shows the very simple method that I had to over complicate by going from 4 core to 8 core.
This is a quick deploy FOB and the easy QD unraveling is shown at the end of the video.

---------------------------------------------------------------
The rest is TMI, unless you're interested in this stuff:

tools:

initial layout:

secret is to grab the 4 end loops at the initial layout with a hemostat-clamp and leave it in for removal at very last step:

Here's a quick deploy 80" cord FOB on one of my fixed blade hunters, made with trilobite weave.
It's a simple weave of single cord on a 4-core.
To deploy, undo the tag end at the arrow, then pull out the stopper knot on the far end.

---------------------------------------------------------------
The rest is TMI, unless you're interested in this stuff:

initial layout:

started plus three weaves:

nearly done:

last step, locking line that is then tucked back in, see arrow on first pic.

finished by pulling the stopper knot to tighten up that inner loop, then shortened/re-tied the stopper knot.

a couple of my diy hunters with 50" and 80" cord in cobra/Solomon weave FOBs.
these were pass through loops in the lanyard holes so they can be easly moved to other knifes.

Thanks RP, also like the removeable loop idea.
It's just some folders don't have large enough lanyard holes to get two cords through.

Nice work, I may have to give it a try.

Seems like a handy way to have some extra cord around, that a guy could use if needed.

Thanks Brad. Yes it is..
Most of the above are not quick deploy (QD).
The QD feature has to be designed in from the start.
But once you've completed a non-QD, it gives you an idea on how to unravel that one, at least which end to start with.

My gun club buddy wanted this lanyard on his new Kershaw 1660,
a slick/solid Ken Onion frame lock design, spring assist:

note the clever blade tip lock (lower left) to ensure the blade stays tucked away when riding in a pocket.

this spring assist folder feels real good in the hand, solid and balanced.

here's the pair, one for the g-kid & one for me.

Here's an inexpensive liner lock plus can opener tool with three lanyard/fobs, each ending with a 4 strand Walker knot.
Got the knife from: S&W knife 8Cr13MoV stainless steel blade

the walker is sometimes frustrating to finish off, I found this link to Walker knot helpful.

rest is TMI, unless you're interested in this kind of stuff:
-------------------------------------------------------
Here's what the end of a 4 strand walker knot looks like compared to a diamond/wall/footrope knot just below:
can see how the 4 walker strands are spread near the circumference while the other 4 are tightly centered.

and that's on the end of this GT keyring fob:

Update:
My gun club buddy's Kershaw 1660 knife tip was catching on the "Y" opening just before the snake knot start.
So replaced it with this thicker crown sinnet finished with 4 strand Walker, plus matching keyring fob.

My son wanted a lanyard like on this : Microteck w/lanyard

So this is what I made for him.
It is a quick deploy type, so it comes apart easily.
It looks bigger than the one above, I think they use smaller dia cord.

Picked up the top one, Kershaw Blur in camo, so have a pair now.
Lanyards are 26" cord, seven snake knots with lanyard knot on ends.

Tks Tim.
Here's a new weave for me, flat snake braid terminated by a wall/footrope.
This flat braid would make a nice bracelet for a young'n, snake braid link
The knife and 2-aaa led light are a nice inexpensive combo.
Make a nice $20 gift, link : Browning Bush craft combo (sorry, sold out 2/8/20)

Two feet black cord and one foot of orange went into this one.

closer look at the flat braid:

Nice work Bob.

And no explanation necessary. I EDC a Streamlight flashlight in my left pocket opposite the Kershaw in the right.

similar, but more of a drop point on Zing.

Repurposed the lanyard that was on this US Link to the Leatherman above,
so whipped up this new snake knot topped off with a lanyard knot.
Love the feel/heft of this Kershaw - feels/looks like it means serious business.

Just staying in practice here, this is 40" black and 30" camo paracord,
crown sinnet between lanyard and wall/footrope knot.
Knife is inexpensive Gerber with decent steel, feels good in hand too.
The extended feathered cord ends give potential for un-raveling,
where the flush sealed off ends don't, like last pic.

Liking the Spyderco Native 5 finger choil on the blade w/jimpping.
Will give the M4 steel a good usage test over time.
Snake knots and lanyard knot on the cord.

Knife is a USA Kershaw Link in 20CV - a really good & heavy duty EDC value.

Loc: in the field, or not..
7 snake knot lanyard and a simple handle wrap on the bare blade.
8 ft of cord on a Spyderco mule, supersteel is M398.
M398 is right up there with 10V and 15 V for edge retention.
Tag ends are left loose so it can be unwrapped with no tools.
