This was hog #1 for the new year.

I was covered with hogs most of the year, but then the acorns started falling in early October, and they disappeared.

I stopped even getting them on cameras. Then a week or so, I got a few on camera, and then Sunday evening a I heard a few squealing and cutting up down in the creek bottom away from my deer stand but never saw them.

This morning I went over in another futile attempt to get my buck for the year as our season ends this Sunday. I only saw 2 does and fawn, but I heard a couple of squeals a time or two off in the creek again.

When I got down I went to check it out and was able to slip in on good sized heard of sows with pigs and at least a couple of big boars. Somehow I either missed the first one, or I don't know what as I never found blood. It wasn't far so can't imagine I missed, but the second one went down quick.

She was a fair sized sow, and I quartered her up for the freezer.

If history is any guide, I would say "yes". This one was with a herd of about 40, mostly little pigs that will grow all to fast.
