The customer service is a tough one. I've called Redding, Hornady, and RCBS. That being said they all were amazing going above and beyond. But Hornady's answering service made me choose them I love Hornady's answering machine... it is the funniest one I have ever heard. They are a good crew too. Nice thing about them is that even though it is a family business, the kids don't walk into a management position - if they want to work for the company, they start by loading trucks, and get promoted only if they earn it... non-family workers can be promoted over family if they deserve it.

The only problem I see (if you want to call it that) is that your answers are going to be influenced by folks that have only owned 1 of the choices. If a person always uses RCBS and has never used Redding or Lee, he would obviously vote for RCBS because he has no experience with anything else. I don't know how you would fix that, though ...... Or ....... is that what you are trying to find out? There is some logic to that on the surface... but, people these days do a lot of research on the net, and usually have one or more friends that advise them - so they might not have used everything, there is weight to their opinion. If you limit the poll to people that have used it all - you will get three answers. So far, the results are reflecting other sources I have access to. Sorry for leaving out one or two things - I can't tell you how much time it took to get this one done (after two other efforts that were deleted))... the poll program is very user unfriendly. This last one (after getting training on the first two) took almost an hour and a half to get right. This answers questions I had as well, thanks. A couple of my votes were based more on internet info. (mostly, if not 100% from PM`s, and some of the guys that over the years a person learns who has the first hand experience/years of experience). A couple I could not answer; I find my Lyman Electronic Powder Disp. to work very well, and could not really pick a WORST load data/manual). Funny, I pick Lee dies as one of the worst, yet also the best, due to price point/value. ETA- Lee...the YUGO of reloading equipment?

I have a soft spot for Lee equipment. It is what got me started and has gotten tons of others started as well. Their equipment is cleverly designed and if not as precise as others, it makes plenty fine hunting ammo. There really isn't any comparison between my first Lee press and my Redding UltraMag, but I still have the little red rascal on my bench for depriming and such. All biases aside, their mechanical powder measure will drop loads as accurately as any out there.

All biases aside, their mechanical powder measure will drop loads as accurately as any out there. I agree 100% with this and the previous info about Lee. I got started with 90% of my equipment being lee that was . I have upgraded a few items that I think are more precise. I also use a perfect powder measurer and it is amazing for the price. Only issue I have is the graduations are not accurate. Having said that, 5 mins to get it set and it throws perfect charges almost every time. 20$ for it can't be beat. I also love the automatic primer that goes along with their presses. I love it's ease and it's one of the reasons I still use their press.

I started reloading several years ago with a Lee single stage press and Lee dies and as yet have had zero problems with any of their equipment. The Lee powder thrower works great and will be hard to beat for the money. I bought a set of Lee dies that didn't have the shell holder, gave a call and had it in two days. Great CS. I bought a 3 die set of Forster dies for a 6BR and have had nothing but trouble from them. Sent them back along with a check for $30 something bucks, returned in same condition so their CS IMO sucks big time. Other folks sing their praises. I learned long ago that you don't always have to spend the big bucks to get serviceable equipment. If and when my press goes south I'll possibly go with an RCBS but so far I'm fine with my Lee stuff. I use the RCBS 1010 scale and love it. Due to my experience with Forster they will never see another penny of my money.

Anytime you want to come down to east Tennessee to see how this blind man shoots you'll be made welcome as long as you keep a civil tongue in your head. We can use acorns at 100 yds for targets and if you're a gambling man bring a pocketfull of cash as well. Surely you can outshoot my Lee made crap.

I was just trying to make it easy for you. As for that group you showed I guess it's safe to assume you were riding a horse bareback at full gallop hanging off the side shooting under it's neck. If so then I guess that's good shooting.

Started with an RCBS Jr. And moved up to a Rockchucker. About 5 years ago I flirted with reloading again and started with a low end Lee kit. At first glance, the expanse of plastic made it seem too cheap. After using it for a while and picking up some newer/"better" bits and pieces I developed a new impression of Lee's equipment. I now use Forster, Redding, Hornady, and RCBS bottleneck dies, but most of my handgun dies are still Lee. The Lee scale is as accurate as my 1010. The powder measure is more consistent than my Uniflow, and the classic (iron) press is as strong and precise as I remember my old Rockchucker being. The on press priming system works better than any of my RCBS equipment did. A lot of it is still plastic and what is still feels ( and costs) too cheap to be any good. That said, for me it just flat works. Others can flame away, but that's what matters.
