Selling whole coyote

Is it illegal to sell a dead non-skinned coyote to an individual in IN or MI, provided it was taken legally and both parties have the proper hunting license? I haven't had any luck yet this season and I am looking for a couple for a taxidermy project, but I want to do all the skinning.

Well did some digging and in IN the rules read as follows "The sale of legally harvested furbearing mammals or untanned hides of furbearing mammals can be made to licensed fur buyers only."
SO that puts IN out I guess.

Ya, it looks that way.

If you are going to buy a coyote, then i would suggest reading the NAFA guidlines on what qualifies a pelt as prime grade, learn how to tell the difference and what to look for. I hear that it's not uncommon in you neck of the woods to get paid $30 for a green whole coyote.

I would also be careful buying one from just anyone, If it's more than a couple of days and wasn't frozen the skin turns. I would hate for you to buy one that has spoiled.
