D740 gen 3 for coyote hunting

Found a used D740 with a Litton MX10160 tube, autogated, I hope it works out for me . Anyone else used this scope for calling ? how clear is it ? I just traded for it and have not received it yet. thx! Mark

I think you will find the D-740 to be a very capable NV riflescope regardless of what Gen 3 tube is inside of it. The MX10160 tube is simply a tube that does not have the capability of manually adjusting the gain. For hunting purposes (unless you hunt in street lighted areas) you will never need to adjust the gain anyway. Unless you already have one, you might want to pick up a good IR device to maximize performance in poor ambient light conditions (no moon, cloudy nights). Kevin
 
That particular scope is no good. i'll be glad to take it off your hands for $1000. Let me know if your interested!!! Just wait.
 
D740 is what I have been dropping coyotes with for 3 yrs now. Not a issue at all at 400yds in a nice light night also if one happens to hang up.
0-400yds is nothing for the d740.
