ka-bar edge problems

I've been having a [beeep] of a time getting an edge on this knife! Is this a normal thing with this type of blade? All of my other knives will shave hair but this one refuses to take an edge. Anybody have any ideas, thanks!
 
Not knowing what steel is in the blade, or where it was manufactured, it's a little hard to get an answer to your problem...There are a bunch of knock offs for the K-Bar and it should have some form of marking on it as to origin...
 
As OT said, you need to state a model number or steel type to get any form of an educated answer. No details = no good info.....
 
K-bars have really hard steel in them. It's even a chore for me to
do it on my machines. But on the flip side when they have a good edge
On them they'll hold it for a while.
