Scouting Rig for Hog Country

Well been spending a lot of time traipsing around in some heavily infested "hog" country and I just thought I would mention my scouting Rig . I have a Marlin 44 mag carbine and a Ruger Blackhawk 44 mag (5 1/2") . I carry this combo when we are scouting and working in the out back. Just upgraded the Marlin today by adding a Redfield 2X7 Revolution . Took off a Tasco Bantam 21/2 . Load for both : 240 grain Remington soft points or 240 grain Hornaday XTP'S , 23 grains of H110, mag primers. I went with this combo about 10 years ago because we were having problems with trespassers on our lease and there were some problems.

My son in law has a mini-14 and a 357 that he uses.

I thought I would bring this up cause the guy injured by the pig in Slydel LA is only about 80 miles south of where we are having hog issues. I have walked up on small groups of pigs a few times this year and had them jump up and run every direction trying to get away.
