Just arrived at Sleep Inn last night weather is nice. 10" of snow expected at home in Indiana today, so glad to be here!
Anyone know if there is an agenda anywhere for times? Have not seen one.

Check over at the Comfort Suites lobby. Most will hang out there.

I'll be floating around in the lobby tomorrow morning if someone needs a buddy... Have a truck, guns, calls, etc. Plenty of room for one or two guys.

Wife & I went calling with Jason El Paso. I did call one but only got a glimse of it, no chance for a shot.

We also called crows on a couple of stands & cows on one. Saw more raptors, jack rabbits & some quail.

Well we had a chance to pop our heads in at the convention this evening. It was nice talking to a few of the guys in the parking lot, wish we could've stayed, but it just wasn't feasible for the wife and I to spend the $250 to participate only after work. I didn't expect anybody to know us by face as we hadn't participated in the conference before, but it may have changed our minds about the cost if the staff was a little more welcoming to newbies when we inquired about registration. Just a little constructive criticism, anyway hope you all have a great time, there's a lot of yotes out there this year. We look forward to participating with a few more local friends and will make sure to pre register next year if you all decide to have it in the area again.

What makes you feel you were not welcomed good enough? Everyone who attends the banquet must register. As for the registration and only being able to participate after work, the only thing we organize is the banquet. If you want to hunt with the members you can do that. We do not organize any of that.

Jason El Paso and I made arrangements to go hunting Friday morning. On the second stand, Jason hand called in a double. I got this coyote while the other took off without presenting a shot opportunity. The skull from this coyote will be cleaned and donated to a public school system to be used as a teaching aid for biology classes. thumbup The carcass was left in a discreet location to benefit the scavengers. thumbup

Looking forward to the dinner and the guest speakers again tonight. The presentations last night were awesome!

What about the response to inquiry didn't you like? Constructive criticism should be specific so we can address your concerns. As reb points out, the registration fee covers the banquets on all three nights of the convention at the museum and several tickets to participate in Saturday's raffle. So if you only had evenings free, you wouldn't have lost out on anything. The hunting and shooting activities you're reading about is al organized in person by individual members and is not part of the registration fee.

Stick around and I think you'll find we're not all bad. smile We're doing this again next year and would like to have you join us.

If you can hunt with a few guys and not have to pay registration, I would still do it. Some of these guys have been shooting coyotes for a while and a feller may get some helpful pointers. Sometimes at Big events, guys seem to feel left out. Don't worry about it. Go back early AM and git to huntin! Good luck.

Sure, you could come and hunt with folks and not attend the evening banquets, but where's the fun in that? grin For most folks who travel to this event, the $150 for the three evenings of camaraderie, education, entertainment, and food is a relatively small portion of the overall cost of the event. Actually, the cost of the event is, in my opinion, a bargain for what you get. Where else can you be instructed by such industry experts as Tom Austin, Mark Healy, and Big Al Morris? Where else will you have the chance to participate in raffles where prizes range from DVDs and hand calls to top-of-the-line Nightforce scopes, EoTech night vision optics, and an array of quality firearms?

I guess I just don't get it - folks will drop a c-note on one night's dinner and movie with the family and not bat an eye; but then turn around and claim that $50 per night is excessive for dinner, educational entertainment that's better than anything churned out by Hollywood, and the opportunity to socialize with like-minded folks. Need I remind you that kids are always free at PM banquets, and they typically walk away with a plethora of goodies? These nightly events are an economical way to spend time with family, friends, and comrades in arms.

That's my take anyway. To each his or her own though...
