220 swift

and 3800 fps so stopped there as I was getting 1 hole three shot groups with that load.
I worked the up the 50 gr. blitzking to 38.5 grs. with 4011 fps but my rifle shot the best at 37.5 grs. and 3903 fps. My loads
showed no pressure in my rifle, that I could see. But I caution any one who uses this powder in their swift until data from from Hodgdon or some other company comes out with some .
I used a Oehler chrono set at approx. 12 feet from the muzzle. The temp. at the time of testing was in the lower 70s . Like I said
before these loads showed no pressure in my gun yours could well differ, use caution.

Good report, Stick.

Thank you.

I love my swift.(I'm on my sixth one). The one I am shooting now is a 700 VSSF, and it likes 40s 50s and 55s in Nosler or Hornady with a variety of powders, but it loves the Nosler 55BT in front of Reloader 15. You gotta love the swift!!! I will never be without one.

Recently I picked up exactly the same rifle. Mine's a 1977. I could secure 200 or so pieces of Winchester nickel plated brass but I haven't been able to find any more. I'm planning on finding the sweet spot with IMR4064 and 50 gr v-max.

I too have a late '70s M77 220 swift.
I enjoy it a lot, hope you will too.

For reference only:
My load is 50 gr V-Max Moly coat,
Federal 210 primers
Frontier Brass
38.7 Grains of 4064
Trim length of cartridge is 2.195"

3 shot 3/8" groups for me.
