I'll be running the range on saturday and after the egg shoot we will run a long range shoot.

The course will consist of 5 steel targets at varying distances. I will post the yardage for everyone to have. I will have an electronic timer that will record your time, the one with the shortest time with all their hits will win a Specialized Dynamics AR15(Gift Certificate). You may shoot from a bench or from the prone position. Longest shot will be around 600yds.
Caliber restrictions will be limited to no bigger than a 300 win mag and no steel core ammo. This is my personal steel and dont want it damaged.

Cost will be $10 and you can do it as many times as you wish (within our allotted time).
Profits from this shoot will benefit a scholarship for young men and women that need help to pay for college through predator masters.

I will be joining for sure!!

I've done very little long range shooting (out to about 350-400), but I may have to give this a whirl just for the fun of it. I'm sure I'll get my butt handed to me, but what the heck!

Matt, you can have a bipod or whatever else you want. a lead sled will be way too slow guaranteed.

I don't recall a bench where we have been shooting. Will we need to provide our own?

There were benches, but then again I thought there was a santa claus until I was 36 years old. Ill have Ruben check.

All I remember is a padded shelve off of the posts that's why I asked.

That is all there was in the spot we do the egg shoot. There are benches on the next range down.

There are a few kind of lighter benches spread out on the range we usually use as well as the padded posts. At the most there are 4 or 5 benches, but they are very spread apart.

The next range down does have benches, but is usually pretty busy by the time we finish the egg shoot, and it kind of ends at ~350yrds.

I'm local, and have been going out there for over a decade, but I could be mistaken on the distance, and I suppose they could have changed the range in the last couple weeks.

Then it will be prone, ill be there wednesday to check stuff out.

The SD Cup was canceled.My understanding was the City of Las Cruces would not allow Scott to set up his own steel targets on their city owned range.

Further west, but potentially cheaper to get to since there are two international airports nearby. There's likely to be some decent flights for good prices. The planned setting, the SCI Museum, is pretty darned impressive too. Come on out, you'll like it.
