Got a little carried with the files on this one. Pretty sure I won't be checkering stainless bolsters again but I had to try once. Just trying to figure out what I want to do when I retire.

Very nice!

I'd say it's pretty obvious what you do when you retire.

I put handles on a few blades over the summer months for gifts and trading fodder but I don't have anywhere near the patience (or skill) to do that kind of file work.

Hope you enjoy your retirement as much as I do mine regardless of what you decide.

Awesome job Jim. I'm impressed. Wood is very nice also.

As for the filework, and being honest: I think I have the skills to do it, but somewhere along the way I seem to have lost what little patience I had. I have been considering doing some filework. Problem is, I usually start off doing okay, then get in a hurry and mess something up. I think patience may be required almost more so than skill sometimes. True craftsmen have it, and it shows.

Very fine job man.

BTW, what town are you in again, I forgot?

Thanks everyone for the nice comments!!

Ken, I live in the boonies!! Mailing address is Hopkins about half way between Grand Rapids and Kazoo.

Thanks,
Jim
