Planning Considerstions for DIY TX hog hunt....

I am jealous of you guys in TX. The military takes me to Tucson, Arizona for almost a month Aug11-Sept6 and my colleague and I tossed around the idea of driving east to Baconville.

We have helmet mounted PVS15s, a bad [beeep] set of thermal binos a bolt action 308 and an M4. I am trying to put a visible laser on my M4. As it stands, our method is to locate with thermal, halo the animal with a vehicle spotlight/red lens.

I'm looking at regs and public lands now to decide on an area in the state.

Any locals have suggestions? Tips?
