Hey guys looking or should i say needing to get a tripod for a new chronograph. Wondering what your thoughts or reccomendations are. I was worried about the heavy weight of the unit and if there is a issue with a camera tripod thanks Gary

I use a 1970's vintage Sears&Roebuck aluminum tripod that is heavy but works great for that. One leg lost a part but duct tape fixed that and it's still going.

Most camera tripods work great. I carry a 5lb weight on a 5ft piece of rope to add some low CG mass when the wind gets frisky. I've seen guys lose a sky screen when it got blown over. The weight also adds a bit of stability.
