Bullet Cannelure Question

I reload strictly for bolt actions so I never use a crimping die. I bought a box of Hornady 270 win 150gr SST bullets not knowing they had a cannelure ring is this going to limit my bullet seating depth or, do these have to be crimped? Thanks

im sure someone will come along with more solid info but to the best of my knowledge you can still seat them where ever you like and no crimp is needed

I pay no attention to the cannelure at all when I load SST's in my 308 and 300 Win mag. I just seat what ever over all length I want and let it be. Never had a problem. The only bullets I've ever crimped is when I used to own a 454 Cassull, the way that thing kicked they had to be crimped!
