Committee to Abolish Sport Hunting, out of NM:

http://www.all-creatures.org/cash/home.html

C.A.S.H. Mission Statement
The mission of C.A.S.H. - Committee to Abolish Sport Hunting - is to accomplish what its name says in the shortest possible time.

Understanding that abolishing hunting entails a process, a series of steps taken and not a single action that would effect our goal overnight, a time frame cannot be established. We hope for building a succession of wins, and if not wins immediately then at least a succession of stirrings of consciousness. We hope to encourage those who are still silent to speak out, awakening community after community about the heavy hand of state and federal wildlife management agencies. We hope to alter whatever belief still exists that sport hunters are conservationists and champions of the environment to a realization that they are destroyers of wildlife and ecosystems in the narrow and broad sense. Where the natural feeling for wildlife doesn't exist, we strive to engender among citizens outrage that their own rights are violated by legal hunting and that their quality-of-life diminished.

Luke A. Dommer was the founder of the Committee to Abolish Sport Hunting. He was its president from 1976 until his passing in August 1992. Mr. Dommer's research and publications served as the foundation for the anti-hunting movement. He remains, through this organization, an invaluable and dedicated warrior in the battle to save wild animals, the environment, and general public from the silent economy that encourages and preys on the passion of a few to kill the wildlife that belongs to all.

HSUS Knows Anti-Hunting Agenda Will Tarnish Mainstream Reputation

Sportsmen should continue pressure to make sure Microsoft ends support of HSUS

June 6, 2007 (National)
(Columbus) – The Humane Society of the United States is trying to dodge the spotlight that is illuminating its anti-hunting agenda.

The U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance (USSA), the nation’s premier sportsmen’s advocacy organization, exposed the group’s agenda when it called on Microsoft to end an enormous fundraising project that will finance HSUS campaigns to ban hunting.

In the wake of controversy over Microsoft’s donation to the animal rights group, HSUS Executive Vice President for External Affairs Michael Markarian made claims that his group has no agenda to eliminate hunting. He all but said such a stance would be unpopular as he highlighted his organization’s healthy membership base and said, “you don’t build that type of support unless you have a mainstream mission.”

The Humane Society of the United States tries to market itself as a ‘mainstream’ organization to which every dog and cat owner should belong, but the USSA won’t let HSUS hide the anti-hunting skeletons in its closet. Here are some recent examples of the Humane Society of the United States’ anti-hunting position:

· Led a 2006 ballot campaign to ban dove hunting in Michigan (contributing $1.6 million to the effort);

· Successfully lobbied for the cancellation of the 2006 New Jersey black bear hunt;

· Opposes hunting on National Wildlife Refuges and is a plaintiff in an ongoing federal lawsuit to ban hunting on federal lands;

· Took the lead in a 1994 ballot campaign to ban cougar hunting and bear hunting in Oregon, and has opposed recent efforts to allow hunting to control these wildlife populations;

· The organization’s Wildlife Land Trust Program permanently bans hunting and trapping on properties that come under its control.

A recent decree from HSUS President Wayne Pacelle spells out which aspects of the traditional lifestyle are next on the organization’s hit list.

Pacelle referenced HSUS opposition to hunter recruitment campaigns that encourage newcomers and children to participate in outdoor sports. He also highlighted the organization’s efforts to eliminate legal bear hunting practices and hunting with hounds.

“The Humane Society of the United States invests millions of dollars in efforts to ban hunting and trapping, and it’s time that companies like Microsoft stop adding to the warchest,” said USSA President Bud Pidgeon.

The USSA and American sportsmen have sounded off to Microsoft urging the company to end its relationship with HSUS.

On June 5, Microsoft brushed aside thousands of calls, letters and faxes it received from sportsmen and issued a statement that it “will continue its affiliation with the Humane Society of the United States.” It went on to express excitement with the partnership and tells sportsmen that it does “not plan to make changes in our relationships.”

Sportsmen have been protesting the relationship since the USSA last week informed the conservation community of the software giant’s $100,000 commitment to the anti-hunting group. The HSUS is also to be part of a pilot fundraising venture that will generate uncapped donations.

Sportsmen should continue to contact Microsoft and demand that its financial support of HSUS be terminated. Contact Bill Gates, Chairman, Microsoft, 1 Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA 98052. Phone: (425) 882-8080. Fax: (425) 936-7329.

The U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance is a national association of sportsmen and sportsmen’s organization that protects the rights of hunters, anglers and trappers in the courts, legislatures, at the ballot, in Congress and through public education programs. For more information about the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance and its work, call (614) 888-4868 or visit its website, www.ussportsmen.org.

Oatsayo all,
Most of the organizations posted are obvious anti-hunting/Gun organizations.
We need a listing of companys that support anti gun/hunting agendas that we are not aware of. Such as ATT which send unknown amounts of money to anti gun supporters.
(I havent had anything to do with ATT for many years)

Anyone have any other companys that fit this description?

American Hunters & Shooters Assoc. (AHSA) based in Texas is anti-hunting and anti-gun.This organization is a serious threat to our freedoms as they attempt to portray themselves a pro-gun/pro-hunting.Take a look at their website:

I don't think this was listed.

UNICEF supports and pushes for gun control in many countries.

However, I doubt anyone visiting Predator Masters would donate anything to the United Nothings anyway.

I fell left out there were no anti-groups in Wyoming.

Also I didn't see Foot Loose Montana on there. They are anti trapping though.

A list of those corporations/ businesses who contribute to anti gun-anti hunting would be great to have - a boycott can hurt things pretty quickly!

St Louis is known for it's BBQ (Sweet Baby Ray's is king there) as well, maybe that's why they have the only Animal Rights Group in the state...

haha thanks OT..

I just think that it's time that we start to push back on these groups that like to give us a hard time. Maybe start to point out the extreamity of these loones.

Missing - Negotiation Is Over - in the above lists - founder: Camille Marino - last known address Sanford, Florida as best I recall. - http://www.negotiationisover.net/

Seems they are redirecting to University of Florida .US URL these days to harrass the folks at the University now. However, I'm sure the president of the University will find that interesting, since I just e-mailed him. Some of you may remember this organization, as Ms Marino launched an "anti"-information assault against one of our members here for a succesful Wolf Hunt in Montana a year or so ago, publishing all of the judge's personal info.

This one is bad news, as they have directions for building incendiary devices and explosives published on their website, several members have been prosecuted as domestic terrorists, and they actively engage in suggesting terror tactics and assaults against their targets, on the site.

Hey Judge!!! You'll enjoy this one...

Quote:Camille Marino is currently serving time until March 2013 at Dickerson Detention Center for charges related to protesting vivisection at Wayne State University. She welcomes support mail.

I think we should all get together and order her subscriptions to hunting magazines. I'm sure the guards would appreciate the levity in that!
