Redfrog report: Predator Masters Fourth Annual hunt.

Sorry, I've nothing to say; unlike others here, I think what happened in Globe in 2005, stays in Globe.

Yeah right!!!

I gotta say Tommy Johnson deserves a big round of applause and several "attaboys" . He did an outstanding job of organizing this year's hunt. Oh he whined a lot, but he's young,{ holy cow, he could be be my grandson}. If he was I'd be dang proud of him. Thanks for stepping up Tommy.

First of all, the motel was terrible, they complained about our tech seminars in the parking lot being too loud. Let me tell you I saw some guests there that could howl at the moon without the help of a "Cronk" and they weren't in our group. The term "Coyote Ugly" comes to mind.

They also didn't say anything about that woman pounding on my door at 3 a.m. I had to get up early to go calling and that woman pounded and yelled for an hour. I finally got out of bed and let her out.

Seriously, for all those that couldn't make it, you should quit smoking, collect beer cans, save your birthday and Christmas money from grandma, skip the donut on coffee break, whatever it takes, and save your money for next year's hunt. For those that have wives and significant others that don't see the importance of you attending, send me some contact information and I will personally step up and beg for you. I'll even give you a note with a picture of the Globe library where we hold our seminars.

I managed to put some faces to the names I see here on the board and I'll tell ya what, it's sure is great to have friends in low places. What a fun bunch of guys. If you come here and don't laugh more than you have in years, you better take your pulse , cause you're probably dead.

I did find it difficult thinking about my wife and kids at home in -42 weather. with the wind chill driving the temperature to -52F. while I was hunting in a T-shirt at 65F. So I just stopped thinking about them and concentrated on calling predators.

The coyotes were ...........different there, follically challenged. Not quite as hairy as I'm used to. The ground is much warmer than I'm used to, and the coyotes come on the run to the dinner bell. We had coyotes howl back at us on some stands, we had coyotes charge in with a purpose and a plan., all be it a poor plan. We saw a bobcat on one stand, with no chance for a shot. No bugs!!! bonus!! I managed to kill one coyote with a borrowed rifle, and Greg aka Albertacoyotecaller missed two. Whoops! I can't remember if I was supposed to say that or not.

Here's Rich Higgins, listening to Tommy Johnson,

Here's Michael J McCasland, listening to me tell about my calling expertise.

Here's me with my blaze orange and a coyote I let the air out of.

Here's Albertacoyotecaller with one of the coyotes he missed.

Here he is with the other one he missed.

Here's my wife, listening to Tommy Johnson. She wasn't at the hunt, but she was listening on the electric radio at home.

Here's Tonlocus searching for the cause of Albertacoyotecaller's misses.

This is Tommy sneaking a picture of me. My he's stealthy.

About that blaze orange ...... ......

Thats one nice lookin' rifle you've got there.

The coyote must have been extremely close for you to hit him with a Ruger #1 and a cheap Simmons scope......

Everybody who thinks they are tough should come to Globe and experience the quality food at the Country Kitchen .......

When BATF lost my application to import our rifles for the hunt, Michael and Crapshoot generously stepped up and loaned us some firearms. Michael is a fan of Ruger single shots as am I. I know we have the only ones in the western world that shoot worth a darn  .

I called a coyote in to about 160 yds, he stopped behind a thick bush with his head just showing. I was concerned about the 22.250 cutting the brush.I put the crosshairs where I thought his chest was, said "Hail Mary full of Grace, drop this sucker on his face" and squeezed the trigger. He didn't even kick. I think he died on the way to the ground.

I sure do like those Ruger #1's Thanks Michael

Hey Frog, Next year send your wife to the hunt and you can stay home. She's much prettier than you are. Can she skin too?

Redfrog, I just read your post and I think I hurt myself. If your posts are "graded and escalate in excitement and intensity" the next one could be dangerous. I may have to have Tommy Johnson read your next post to me.

Rich I hope you are feeling better.

In spite of what Jay says about you , I think you are a brave man. I know I'd have a tough time choosing between listening to Tommy or having the flu, but you listened to him and had the flu at the same time. Heck you may have even eaten in that restaurant.

Fearless, simply fearless.

I did all three, Redfrog. Nietzsche said that which did not kill us made us stronger. I may be ready to enter the Olympics after this banquet.

Don't listen to a frog!! I talked to him personally on the phone right after he got home and he informed me that not only did Michael lend him a gun but also that coyote that red supposedly "shot." As for the shooting around a bush and nailing that coyote? Well... I think you all know the truth about that now.

I cant take credit for the picture. I saved it to my computer over a year ago. I knew it would come in handy sooner or later. Besides, I knew Redfrog would be understaning.

I blame it all on Higgins! He made me sleepy! Just looking at him made me feel bad!

Rich,

Tommy was the texan guy! All I know is he kept taking my money and handing me little blue tickets! And that he stood in front of Lances truck alot and it held him up for awhile!
