---Impressive---Very Impressive indeed---
There was a time when most custom calls were interesting but all in all fairly unimpressive. Except for the notable standouts like Jay Nistetter (Jay is still the King of custom wood calls in my book), Al Lux (Nice machined metal calls) and Rich Cronk (Mostly known for his cow horn open reed calls).

Thursday night Keekeeyelp and Moose57 had some of their calls laid out on the tailgate of a truck. I have one of Moose57's origional calls, that one was nice enough but the calls he sells now are in a much different league. I was impressed enough to slap down his asking price for one of his (unsigned) calls. Then I noiced Keekeeyelp's calls, if I had more spare money I would have had one of those as well. Both of these calls are increadably nice. Over the next few days Moose57's call called in several coyotes.

Then my hunting partner gave me a (edit)THO call. He wasn't at the hunt, but nice hardly covers the quality. Along with Moose57's call this one called several coyotes.

At the banquet I was impressed enough to bid/win one of Bradh's calls. Another very nice call.

There were other examples of hobby calls that I did not get to examine. However one thing I absolutely know, hobby call making has come a very long way in a very short period of time. If you enjoy collecting and using beautiful calls don't be afraid of getting calls from the hobby call makers here on PM.

The call is a THO call which can be seen in the thread, 3 New Calls For Sale in the Hand Call forum. They are extremely nice calls.

One of the best things about call making is hearing when someone has success using your calls. Thanks to all for the kind words.

One of the best things to come out of the hunt for me was when a new member, Shameless, came up to me after a day of hunting. He had bought one of my calls the night before. He usually hunted with his brother in law, MIvarmit, who had plenty of calls. So the purchase of one of my calls was a first for Shameless. His first predator call and it was a custom. But the best was next to come. Shameless was able to use his call the next day. If I remember it right, Shameless called in a coyote on the first stand with the new call. So it was a bunch of firsts. First stand, first coyote for him to call in, with his first call, that happened to be one of mine. When he came up to me at the end of a day hunting to tell me that, it made the long trip all worthwhile.

So I hope that those are just the first of many predators to be called in with your Mad Moose calls. And make sure you let me know when you are successful with my calls. For that is the real reason I make calls. Oh, and to get rich! :eek:

I had a great time at the hunt and sold every call that I had with me and took some orders on others! Thats great! But I agree with Moose, after selling a few calls and haveing members come up to me the next day and tell me the srories of what they called in with the calls! Well, it just made my hunt! Only thing is no one ever sends PIC's!!!!!! send pic's so I can get them up on the web site!
