Well gezz, I don’t even know were to start! It was a great trip and I had a blast! Great people and made lots of new friends and had a great time! To start off I would like to thank Tommy for a great job on putting the hunt together, everything was great! Job well done Tommy.

I would also like to thank Jay and Gary for some great hunting. And Rich and Tyler Higgins for all the help and great hunting. Lance (aka Crapshoot) I had a great time hunting with you, you are a lot of fun and thanks for putting up with me for a few days! I really enjoyed it!

I flew in to Az on Saterday night, and Jay picked me up at the airport. We started out Sunday hunting with Gary. It was awesome! By noon I was ready to call the wife and tell her to start packing the stuff I was moving to Az! Jay posted all the good stuff on that days hunt. All I can say was I had a great time hunting with Jay and Gary, both very good callers, and great hunters! It was great!

Monday me and Jay headed out before daylight and drove to an area Jay hunted. On the first stand we poped a coyote out on the way in to the stand. We made a few cat stands early with no results, Lots of sign just none showed up. Later in the morning we set up on the edge of an open area with some thick brush to the sides. I started calling and with in a few min had a coyote show up to my left hand side. After getting to the edge she just sat down to have a look, she stood up and started away from me so I went to lip squeaking her in. She started across the open area and didn’t make it far before Jay put the Ar-15 to her! Very nice coyote that tipped the scales around 23#. We called one other coyote that we didn’t get a shot at that day. Jay is a very good caller and knows the coyotes very well. I had a great time hunting with Jay.

On Tuesday I headed out with Tyler Higgins for the day. First stand of the day put us up on top of a wash looking down into some brush. Tyler was calling this stand and after a few min of calling he picked up a coyote coming in. It was on his side and I couldn’t see it. After he worked the coyote a few min, he started to cross from left to right I picked him up in the brush. I started working the coyote for a shot. He worked his way threw the brush and I didn’t have much of an opening to shoot threw there was a bunch of brush to my left and he had got his fill and was leaving, I picked a hole in the brush and stopped him right in the open spot, and droped him in his tracks at about a 100 yards. We got 5 min and a few sec of video all great usable footage! After a few pics and a few hero shots we were off to the next stand. We made a few more stands with no shows and on the last stand of the day we were set up over looking a wash in front of us. After a few howls and some puppy distress crys I cought some movement to my left, I turned just in time to see the coyote cross the wash as it went into the wash. I start the soft calls to see if I can get it around in front of me for a shot, there was some thick brush on that side and all I could get was bits and pieces of it as it was going to the down wind side and sure enough that’s what it did, cought my winds and was on the run. I couldn’t get on him for a shot and sure wasn’t going to stop!

On Wend, I hunted with Tyler Higgins again and we headed up to the mountains for some cat calling. No cats but we had a blast! We had Dillon with us Tylers 10 year old family member. I will tell you filming must run in the family because this kid was not shy of the camera! He did a very good job setting on the stand and had great control for a 10 year old! I enjoyed it very much!

Thursday I met up with Lance AKA…Crapshoot! We met up before daylight and headed out for the day. We hunted an area that had a mix of a little bit of everything from mountains to rocks to desert. We bumped one out on the way to the stand and that was all the action we had for the day. We cut the day short to head back to globe to meet up with everyone and have a few beers, and that we did! Great talks in the parking lot! It was great to meet all the people and finally see them after talking and chating with them for so long!

Friday… We headed out to a spot that Rich Higgins had mapped out for me. The first stand of the day brought in a triple. They were coming from my left hand side and with all the brush I didn’t pick them up till they were right on top of me. I started barking and got the first on to stop and lance dropped it. Bad thing is it got up! After a look around to see if we could recover it, we lost blood and couldn’t find it so we headed off to the next stand. We were walking in when two coyotes crossed the road in front of me so we shot over in the brush and set up. After a few short calls I had them coming on a strait line to me side by side, When a Jeep drives threw the stand! They split and were gone! We made a couple stands and nothing showed, and then we finally hit pay dirt. We set up and it was Lances turn to call, almost as soon as he starts to call a coyote runs strait at him! Lance dropped it! I think we called six that day total. Killed 1, shot one we couldn’t find.

On Saterday me and lance headed back out again. We took one coyote on the first stand of the day and called one more that back doored me and tried to take me off the stool! I took a long running shot and missed! This was after lance told me to watch the back door!…lol We had what looked to be a cat come in a midday stand, with no shot. We had some bad luck to…..People driving threw stands, bird hunters, motox wanta Be’s on dirt bikes, the wind picked up on us to, We called 6 or so Ranch dogs! That was fun! We had a blast for sure! I really enjoyed the hunt with Lance! No matter what he tells you he is a good caller and hunter! He kept me rolling around with jokes and stories the hole time! I had a great hunt with lance! I enjoyed it!

Sunday we didn’t hunt just hung around till time for the PM Bnq. It was great! Lots of fun! Rich and Jay did a great job on the talks! And I filmed the hole thing! Great info from both of them! We had some great prizes and everyone had a good time!

I really enjoyed meeting everyone and had a blast. It was a different ball game out there hunting than what I have here! Took me a day or so to get the hang of it. Lots of coyotes and cats and I meet some great people! I enjoyed all the talks at night and the cold beer just as much as the hunts! Just wanted to say thanks for all the great times out there and I really enjoyed it!

I would also like to thank everyone who bought calls from me there! I hope they work well for you and make sure you send me pic's! Thanks!

Brent

KeeKee,

Thanks for the great post with all the pics and details from Globe.

Because of the fine reports like yours I am thinking about making arrangements to go next year. I've been to AZ before but not hunting. I noticed the terrain and all I could think about was calling preds. Hopefully Ronnie Cannon and myself will be making that trip next year to help make it an even bigger success.

Thanks again,
JB <><
