A little late but here is a coyote I took while out hunting with Critr Gitr last year on the San Carlos.

He came right up to Critr's ecall and decoy setup that he placed on top of a small hill between he and I about 10 minutes into the stand. As soon as he topped the hill, something had him spooked and he turned and bolted never once seeing me or Critr. Critr was unable to see all of this since he climbed the hill from a different view point. I caught a glimpse of him running over a hill about 100yrds to the south headed out. Shortly later he topped his second and final hill putting him at about 200 yrds as he stood broadside.

I had about two seconds to get my rifle and shooting sticks into position as he began to head down the hill. In a last ditch effort, I squeezed off just as he was starting to disappear and hoped for the best. Critr got to see this take place after hearing me scramble into position. I couldnt tell if I had got him or not, but Critr said "I think you did." I scurried over two hilltops and to my dismay there wasnt a coyote waiting for me. I turn around to ask Critr to guide me and he was pointing to my right telling me to go just about ten feet since that was the last place he had seen him. I think Critr had a beacon on him since he couldnt have been an inch off. Sure enough there he layed piled up.

He weighed 34 pounds and 55gr's.

Ahh the fun of PM hunts!!

Good shootin', TJ. A 200 yd snapshot. What did you push that 55 grainer out of? A .223?

Nasa of course I played it off like it happens everyday, but my praying before I fired might have blown my cover.

It was my Ruger 22-250 w/ factory Rem Express Rifle cartridges. They are a pretty good combination.
