Z max vs. vmax ?

I've read a report that the .224" 40gr Zmax does not have a boat tail. I know the 40gr Vmax does. That is different, if true. Anyone know?

40 zmax is identical to 40 vmax, boat-tail and all.

The Z-max is the V-max, except the jackets ARE different. The Z's all have the new AMP jacket.
Seems to be an electro-deposition type process

I bought a box of 500 55gr zmax .224 bullets a few months ago since they were cheaper than the Vmax of the same weight. They shoot no different out of my rifles.

But that could be a real old VMax vs a new ZMax may e they changed a bit? I'm not sure. I know Hornady advertises the AMP jacket on the ZMax and not on the VMax.


But...Hornady tells me, via phone, there is no difference.
