I dont hunt with a pistol..not deadly accurate enough. My dogs hunt hard and tree a lot of coons. I figure its my job once they are treed to keep them safe and keep them from getting chewed up. I use a 22 single shot (hollow point) marlin w/scope. Put the spot light on it and it lights em up good for head shots..bang flop. With a songel shot no worries about safeties and coon/dog fight accidents
