...WOW!!! Has that squirrel ever been to Missouri??
The reason I ask is that about 9 years ago, I found a grey squirrel with a similar tooth, except that his grew out just under his nostril. It wasn't one of his 4 regular front teeth, but grew and curled about the same as the one in your picture.
I posted on a forum, I forget which, with pics. I called him a saber-toothed squirrel. I had him mounted, but people think I had the tooth put in as a joke. I show them the pics I took of him before he went into the freezer, and tell them that the amount I spent to have him mounted is no joke.
He was also healthy, and had a set of "jewels" to be envied.
