Well, I got my first tree rat. Shot it out of my pecan tree in the back yard. I kept trying to get a side shot on it but it would turn and face me barking at me. Dang thing was a screamer too. Well I got tired of going round and round the tree so I put a bullet right down it's throat. BIG MISTAKE!!!!! I was planning on cooking it. But there wasn't enough left to do anything with. The bullet traveled right down the spine making a large hole where the meat is or was. When I tried skinning it, I accidentally tore it in three. I had a partial leg in one hand, a leg with a partial torso in the other and a pile of skin and organs on the ground.
So, I gave up and gave it to the neighbor's cat. I don't think they'll appreciate cleaning it up off their garage. lol Oh well, You win some you lose some. I'll chalk this one up to a learning experience.
