U.S. Rep. Greg Walden, (R) oregon is writting a rider to attach to the forest service budget bill. It will require the forest service to revise the TMP, (travel management plan) nation wide.

This means that people who are unhappy about the closures in their national forest can make the forest service stop and do it again and this time listen to the people who live there.

What you need to do is contact your Congressman/woman AND senator and direct them to sign on to this bill or go home in november. (It's an election year, do it now)

Forest service chief Tom Tidwell was sent a less than cordial letter by U.S. Rep. Greg Walden and Senator Jeff Murkley and now states that the forest service has lost the trust of the public and will now review all TMP complaints brought before them.

You need to start gathering signatures to show both the forest service and your elected offical that you are serious and want your Public Land back.

This is probably your last chance to make public land public again. blue
