We are indeed awarding scholarships for the school year starting in Aug/Sept of 2011. In the past we awarded three $500 scholarships and we anticipate doing at least as much this year.
This year we are making a few changes to both the requirements and the process.
Requirements
You must be a registered member of Predator Masters or the son or daughter of a registered member.
You must be registered as a full time student at an accredited college or university for the fall semester, and must be taking at least one "Ag" type class (or something to do with game management).
You may be in any year of college or in an advanced degree program.
You must submit an original essay. The length and subject of the essay will be of your choosing, but obviously an essay dealing with some aspect of game/livestock management/biology and/or predator contol would probably get more votes than an essay on basket weaving.
Process
All essays should be submitted to me by forum private message on or before July 1st, 2011, including proof of your fall semester registration, mailing address, year in college or what advanced degree you are working toward, etc.
I will then strip the essay of all identifying features (excepting your year in college and/or degree/major) and post it in a separate forum visible only to the Scholarship Committee. The committee will read, discuss, and evaluate each submission and reach a decision on or before Aug 1st as to the recipients.
The committee will be comprised of myself and 6 PM members selected by the PM admin. No one who is applying for a scholarship or who has a family member or friend applying may sit on the committee.
If you think you are qualified and might be interested in volunteering for a position on the Scholarship Committee, please private message me with you particulars, including your age and relevant experience.
