Dose anyone out there have any good ideas for a portable shootin bench I can build myself? With spring already here I figure I need a project or two to waste a little time.
Any ideas would be great.

Dirt simple, really. Banquet table legs, blocks to get the height where I like it, 1/2" plywood top, some angle iron for rigidity. Much more lightweight than what most guys like. But it suits me. Folded, I can lift it with two fingers. Can snag it out of the back of the pickup, kick the legs down and be shooting in under a minute. Break it down to move on just as fast.

I've killed varmints out to just under half a mile off it.

Jbrad--Here's a link to some pictures of a shooting bench I built. These are posted in the firearms area. This bench is quite heavy, but not so heavy you can't carry it for quite some distance. It is a little more cumbersome to deploy than DAA's, but once you get it in place it is rock steady.
