My brother is kicking himself for not taking his bow this morning...

I got a text this morning around 7:50 and my brother said he saw a doe, but couldnt get a shot. Then about ten minutes later he calls me and said he shot a big bodyed buck at about 30 yards. Turned out to be a nice eight point that weighed 172lbs. Ill get some pics up in a little while got to do some moving stuff.
 
Heres the buck he shot this morning. His neck was starting to swell up and seems like the pre-rut may already be starting.

Yep he shoots a .270. Not DRT but pretty close. He made a perfect heart/lung shot. He said he shot and the buck jumped and kicked and from there he made It about 40 yards on his 2 back legs. He watched him go down.
 
ours is the 14 0r 13th i dont remember! i will be using a bow up until rut then i will be using my mossberg with a slug!

then its back to bow for a few weeks, then to coyote hunting!
