Help Identifying this rifle

I think BCB is probably right with his Big Foot statement. I really think the rifle is based off of some type of 17 HMR though.

Many pre WW1 16" carbine barrels were fitted with a 2" free bored press fit extension on the barrels to make them legal to import into the US. At the time that they were imported, the 16" carbines like the Mauser 94 Carbine were too short. The laws have changed since that time and a 16" barrel is now legal to import. If you study you barrel very closely, you might find a faint line showing where the extension was pressed on and then turned to match the barrel diameter. Some of these were very well done and the seam is almost invisible. I have an 1898 Gustav which this was done to. The extension is permanent and impossible to remove, so don't even try.
