Nevada Sportsmen Respond to Alert about PeTA-Friendly Bill- (05/11)
Nevada
Numerous phone calls from concerned sportsmen and sportswomen have led to
the amendment of a Nevada bill that would have given People for the Ethical
Treatment of Animals (PeTA) the profits from the sale of a special logo
license plate.
Nevada legislators received a flood of phone calls from outraged sportsmen
who wanted changes made to Senate Bill 54, a bill that would have created a
special license plate to raise funds for PeTA. In response to the calls, the
bill has been amended so that the monies raised by the sale of the license
plate will go to local animal welfare shelters.
Congratulations, Nevada sportsmen! You have made your legislators listen to
your opinions. You voices have stopped a powerful animal rights group from
finding a new funding source.
