17 hmr has replaced my 22lr. It really hits them hard for such a light round.

Savage .17hmr with the accu-trigger. 3x9 Nikon pro-staff scope. 17gr ballistic tip. very lethal combo. i've had a half dozen good .22lr and none were as accurate. the trigger is a keeper. if the trigger breaks clean and crisp at 3-4lbs, it makes for much better accuracy. i put 40+ squirrel tails in the freezer last fall for making crappie jigs. probably killed that many more for a friend that likes to eat em. all taken with the .17hmr. most were head shots.
