Well guys I have to say that was a great time! I had a blast.
I really enjoyed meeting everybody. I really feel part of a community now that I can put names with the faces, and avatars. Old turtle and Everett, you gentlemen really made this trip a good one. I appreciate all you did. Old turtle gets an extra thanks for the custom handle.... worked like a charm.
As you know I was the lucky, "early bird" raffle winner. I hunted with Byron South on Thursday and Friday. What a blast. I picked up many tips and tricks of the trade. It still amazes me the way an experienced caller can pick the great spots to hunt. I would say that stand selection was my greatest benefit from hunting with Byron.




Here is the first coyote I shot while hunting with Byron.
Another big two thumbs up to rockinbbar. He hunted with Byron and I on Friday. We teamed up to double tap a coyote on our second stand. Believe me...that coyote died a quick death. That Friday we only made 5 stands and had coyotes on 3 of the 5. We did have 12 border patrol agents drive into one of the 5 stands. So maybe that one shouldn't count.
I think that every one that attended had a great time. I sure did.

Rod, It was a pleasure to meet you and share a room... Glad the 'handle' held up...

We got on the road at 6AM and I didn't have the heart to wake you guys up at 4AM to say goodbye...

Hope the flight went well, after picking up my car in KC, I had to drive about 170 miles in heavy fog...fortunately everyone stayed a reasonable distance apart..

I know you are looking forward to that African Hunt... and I wish you really good luck on it..
