Covering the barrel with tape

Need some info on change of impact if end of barrel is covered with tape. I suppose the air ahead of the bullet pushes the tape off the end before the bullet reaches the crown. Fell in a chizeled field trying to walk in deep snow, with the barrel dipping into the snow. Sorry as I tried to find an old post- no luck

Been doing it for years with no problems. Just shot a mule
deer this month with tape over the barrel. Some writer did
a study (test) with and without it this year, but do not
remember who or what magazine, with practicably no measureable difference.

You can also go to Walmart and look in the pharmacy section for "finger cots". They look like little condoms, only you use these on your injured finger. Although some of us could probably use them for ...well....ahem
Never mind, you get the picture I'm sure.
