Savage arms cow hunt.

I purchased this 270 Winchester Savage the day before the hunt. Mounted a Aetec Simmons scope and worked up 15 rounds of a old MOA load I used to shoot. The guy at the gun store laughed at me and told me I would never be ready for the Cow elk hunt. Long story short, found a herd of 40 cows the next day and gave my nephew 3 shots to get his first so I could take mine. The herd was running off and one stopped at 300 yards. I held top back and squeezed. End of hunt with a gun i had put together just 19 hours earlier. Was a good day.... I love them Savage rifles.

This load has worker for over 6 yrs time and time again. All one shot kills. From Elk to bear to deer. This is the last deer rifle I will ever buy I hope. Devastating wounds on all animals. 55 grains of H4831 behind a 140 grain sierra HPBT. I will only replace the trigger when I get the cash.
