I was thinking back to some of the great calling country Barry showed me in May. Some of it was very open, but some of it that was loaded with sign offered a challenge to see any distance from a sitting or even standing position.

Enter the ladder. I think a guy could hurt some coyotes with a shotgun and ladder at the hunt.

We have some members who have experience hunting with ladders and maybe they will chime in with some tips and dos and don'ts.
Michael J McCasland gave demos at a couple of our hunts. Very informative.

I'm flying in so I have to use a rope ladder to fit in my luggage. I know, I know , I have a few problems to work out, but I'm optimistic.

I will have my ladder with me and it can be borrowed for anyone that wants to give it a try.

I say it allot as it's worth repeating. I weigh 300lbs naked and when dressed and fully loaded with gear I hunt off an old rickity 6' wooden ladder.

I dont use it every stand, but it's always with me as a good portion of land down here it comes in very handy.

I have never hunted Las Cruces, but just a couple hours West on the Arizona side of Lordsburg is one of my favorite places to hunt and the ladder comes in handy there.
