.45 auto Loads?

Quote

If you are worried about leading in the barrel, then ease
your mind. Pick a quality hard cast bullet, not the inexpensive soft lead or swaged lead, and in the .45 ACP especially the velocities are low enough that leading is nonexistent. Other than 230 gr. FMJ hardball there has probably been more lead shot through .45’s than all the jacketed hollowpoints combined. There just isn’t any point in price, accuracy, wear on the barrel, or performance on small game and paper to shoot jacketed bullets in the .45 ACP cartridge.

+1 I agree with GC.Other than personal Defence loads I see no reason to shoot anything but lead.I use W 231 and Unique
and very seldom have leading at 45 velocity.

Same here except 5.0 Bullseye for 230 jackets and 4.8 Bullseye for 230 lead

I shoot 230 grain Winchester FMJ's over W231. Don't remember the exact charge, but could look it up.

When I shoot all of the FMJ's I have I will be switching over to the Precision bullets like ackleyman mentioned. They are sweet! My buddy from New Mexico has been using them for a while with great success.
