i'll be going from olympia Washington down to portland oregon. then up the columbia River to Pendelton. then cross the blue mountain's down into idaho through Boise. then into utah. then to Weasel's house in Hurricane utah. from there were going to hunt through Arizona to Flagstaff down into new mexico. going to make a fun trip out of it. that's the route i'm going. Rick

Kerry will e going south through Montecello. Rick and weasel will be heading east out of Hurrican and then south. Both miss Vegas.

fly down to south Texas hunt with me the week before then drive to the PM hunt with me and fly home from there or hitch a ride with someone...
if times a problem just fly into Laredo on Thursday night i will pick you up and we can hunt till Sunday then head to NM, if there are not any deer hunters on the ranch that week that's what i am doing

Lance is a fun guy to hunt with... just DO NOT let him drive!!!! He likes to leave dead critters in the bed of the truck when it gets really hot, too. Oh, and NO breakfast burritos!

Southwest Airlines frequently has very cheap flights from/to Vegas and El Paso. With this much lead time, you might be able to get a good deal (like the $49 one way tickets). You get to El Paso, I'll get you from there to Las Cruces.

I will check into that. Right now they are only taking reservations upto Jan 8th 2010. From what I have seen in the past, the low are rates will get you from point A to Vegas and back but rarely do they get you from Vegas to point A for the same rate. Go figure. I think LV pays the airlines to give cheap rates TO LV just to make money from the tourists.

I just got their specials email - no dice right now. One way from Vegas to El Paso (or Albuquerque, which could work too) is $100. I'll keep watching their specials and post or PM.

Any Wyoming guys thinking about attending? I know that the event is quite aways off, but never hurts to start planning.

As the days wind by, I'm getting more and more interested in going. I'd probably drive,looks like a straight shot down I-25, so if anybody, (even Colo. guys) is interested, speak up.

It looks like there are quite a few things to do for a non-hunting spouse, so the option is open to bring my wife and make a get-away out of it (maybe I should bring this to her attention ).
