I'd guess that if you took them hunting a couple times, that string would break and you'll be down to a heavy piece of wood that would then be concidered a mono-pod!! And may I suggest wearing gloves anytime that you're handling/hunting with them, to avoid splinters!!

Thats the same wood I am using to make my new Predator hunting seat from with armrests,spotting scope holder,ammo tray and intregal shooting stixs.I am thinking i may get a LLama to pack it out to my sets and then I can use it for a decoy.Anyone have any Llama in distress sounds.

But, what if somebody actually does come up with something cool as non-traditional shooting sticks ... by the way didn't they used to be called cross sticks? Those chairs do look comfortable, I might get me one to try.

I think I'll get a picture of my shooting sticks up soon. They aren't completely traditional, but darned close to it.
