The rules will be tweaked some next year to make it even more shooter friendly. I will try to get them up soon so everyone can have all summer to prepare. I think you will like the changes.

The pictures of the rifles laying on the bench I find interesting, but what are they? Since your tweeking the rules how about next year if the competitors fill out a rifle information sheet, something like this?
FACTORY Rifle Total Weight: Total $ investment: Manufacturer: Model: Caliber: Glass bedded Y/N Free Floated Y/N Trigger adjusted Y/N
SCOPE Manufacture: Model/Magnification: Reticule: Bases: Manufacturer Rings: Manufacturer
CUSTOM Rifle Total Weight: Total $ investment: Manufacture: Model: Caliber: Gunsmith: Trigger: Make, model, weight of pull. Barrel: Make Contour, Twist, Length, SS or CM. Upper Components: Lower Components: Stock: Manufacture: Model: Glass bedded Y/N Free Floated Y/N Pillar Bedded Y/N Adjustable LOP Y/N
SCOPE Manufacture: Model/Magnification: Reticule: Bases: Manufacturer Rings: Manufacturer

Here is mine Bill: Scope-Leupold 4.5X 14 Varmit reticle LaRue mounts Rifle- DTech Tac .20 weighed in at 10lb 1oz. Rock River tuned trigger Shilen 1/12 twist 22 inch SS/fluted barrel/free float components all Rock River/ camoed in NatGear stock extention Load was 39gr Sierra in Fire-formed r-p brass with 25.5gr of N-530. PS I bet if you started a post and asked you would probrably get most of the shooters to reply what they shot. There were a lot of really nice guns and I would guess about 50/50 AR's and bolt guns.

Venatic thanks for the reply and congratulation on some fine shooting. I'll leave this here since RagnCagn said he is going to tweek the rules for next year and maybe some others will respond. If not I'll move it to the other thread. I hope Ragncajun will consider my request for next years shoot because it would show what the competors consider a egg shoot/predator gun is to them. I prepared to shoot the match a couple of years ago but didn't because of conflicting events at the same time frame. My rifle and until I get something better was a 30+ year old stock Remington 40X in 22-250 using Sierra 52 grain HPBT's with a Weaver T-10.

Mine is a pretty much standard Bushmaster Varminter with a few internal modifications. Nothing that I think really improves performance, just makes it mine. Glass is a Leupold Vari X III LR 4.5-14X50 w/Varmint Hunter reticle in an Armalite 1 piece mount. Ammo is by Wisconsin Cartridge, 55 gr V-Max @ 3050fps. Nothing special.

Jeff that's funny. Maybe if you had noticed your rifle 25 more miles down the road you would have accurized your truck gun to hit the 300 yard egg.
Thanks to those that have responded. Hopefully more will. They are interesting to me. AR's are certainly plentiful. You all have nice equipment.

I was shooting a 17 fireball Rem. CDL with a custom barrel and a neiko Stearling scope. The loads were 18 grains of 10X Powder driving a 27 grain Kindler gold. I have yet to even have a Coyote even move after being hit with this load they just crumple Kerry

Mine was a Dtech 243 wssm sum barrel, jewell trigger, Shepherd scope. It's my regular "go to" predator rifle and the only one I brought with me. Does the job on coyotes and (unlike the 17s ) will shatter eggs too (when I can hit them ).

nmleon, Currently I've got a Remington 700 at the gunsmith waiting for a Shilen SS barrel. It's intended for fox and bobcats. Maybe it will work on eggs too.

The quality of the rifle (within reason) will be taken out of the next competition. Shooting ability will be greatly emphasized over rifle ability. If you have a 1 MOA rifle and can shoot, you stand a good chance to be competitive. The rules will be posted later today.

I was using about as bone stock of a rifle as possible. Remington 700VS in 223 with a Leupold VXIII 4.5-14 50mm. The only modification to the gun was the wrapped on camo stuff! I definitely need to tune the trigger a bit, its great on yotes.. but definitely not Minute of Egg
