I forget. Who won the egg shoot last year and what kind of rifle/caliber were they using? Thanks.

Are there any caliber restrictions?

No, but there are weight and stock width restrictions. See the link to the rules.

The idea is to do the shoot with a predator hunting rifle.

I may try it with my crossbow or my slingshot if I'm lucky enough to make it to the hunt this year!!!! I think I can bust an egg at 100yards(or at least come very close)... at two hundred yards, not so confident!!!LOL

Any challengers?

Well said, Sean!

In the spirit of the event, I may just go ahead and use my AR as is, 7.5 lbs with a 4X scope. Heck, maybe I'll take the time to zero it in before I shoot too

Any concessions?

I think that I will be entering the egg shoot, as will at least one of my two Daughters whom will be attending the hunt with me.

What will said shooting stick be? I would like to have my daughters practice off something similar in the meantime.
Thanks,

I use a 4-16x40 bushnell 4200, is that scope disqualified or can I just set the power to 15 or less?

OK guys...

Curious to know what you all are planning on scramblin' eggs with? Maybe a brief description of your sticks, just for conversation & comparison?

Anyone been practicing???

I'm planning on skippin' out on the egg scramble shoot. I could probably hit an egg at 100 yrds. in 5 shots. But I'm happy to hit a prairie dog at 200 yards and even happy to hit a coyote at 300 yards, let a lone hit an egg that far out there!

No time to practice, Fred. I will either use my Dtech .223 or my Dtech built Rock River. I have better scope power (the one I got from you) on the RR, but I shoot the DtechOly more.

If I end up just bring one gun for convenience sake, I will probably bring the 20". I don't know, it is hard to decide.

I'm shooting 60 gr. v-max black hills in the Oly and 55 gr. Hornady soft point reloads from venatic in the RR.

I was trying to talk David into bringing his Dtech 6x45 (that is a fine shooting machine), but he was thinking about the Dtech Tac20.
