Ray Schoeneke, president of the American Hunters and Shooters Association, says in an Obama ad that I heard on WPTF in Raleigh this morning that he, and his Association, are supporting Obama and Biden. A real attack ad.

How can an organization that ostensibly stands for hunters and shooters support the most virulent anti-gunners of all time?

The only answer is that the American Hunters and Shooters Association is really a sham organization, whose goal is simply to weaken the NRA by siphoning off members and money.

It remains to be seen how many people who believe in the Second Amendment will fall for this travesty.

God help us; they are attacking us from the inside now.

Sounds like the "Brady Bunch" and the likes of George Soros have put together a Trojan Horse organization....

The couldn't make much headway openly, so now they are attempting to be a wolf in sheep's clothing....
 
OT, you hit the X Ring and Furhunter's "Fact Sheet" post is right on, too.

This group is a TOTAL SHAM and a full bore enemy of the 2d Amendment. Do not, repeat DO NOT let their name fool you--they exist as an organization on paper and are NOT made up of actual hunters and/or shooters. They are an Anti group, created to provide a patina of 2d Amendment freedom to the liberal, anti-gun politicians they endorse.

Basically they are The Brady Bunch wearing a camo Halloween costume.

Another reason to be a member of the NRA, they've had these guys pegged since thier groups inception. Wolves in sheeps clothing!!

I heard this ad just this morning. Something to the effect that "Obama and McCain will both protect our 2nd Amendment right to own and use firearms, but McCain will send jobs overseas." What a load of BULL!!
 
The American Hunters and Shooters Association is poison. It is a deliberate false front for gun control, intended to fool hunters, especially anyone who is annoyed by the NRA.

Key officials and board memebers who founded and run the organization have worked for anti-gun organizations in the recent past. Spokesman Ray Shoenke gave $5000 personally to Handgun Control, Inc. Another board member, John Rosenthal founded the anti gun Massachusetts State organization Stop Handgun Violence. One is an anti-gun former BATF offcial, another board member, Jody Powell, was a rabid anti-gun official under Carter, and another worked as a lobbiest for anti-gun organizations.

I have read their material on their website, etc. and it is pure fiction, slimey. It purports to support hunters but is worded with loopholes to support any and all gun laws.

This one isn't even close to a neutral or soft middle ground organization. It is pure anti-gun dressed up in camo with a shotgun for photo ops.
