I want a decoy

I would like to get a decoy for Christmas. Just not sure which one to get. I have never used a decoy before.

These details might help. I hunt in and around farms. So areas consist of hardwoods, pines, thick and not so thick, also brushy areas that are just growing back up. I use only hand calls as I cant bring myself to buy an electronic caller.

Any thing I left out that might help?

TTT....

I got some Gander Mountain gift cards for Christmas and I am going to stop by there and purchase a decoy this week. So I am looking for a few more suggestions.

Woodpecker looks good...just not what I am looking for right now.

I have the rigor rabbit and let me tell you it works. Put alittle scent on the fur and boy the coyotes run right to it.

Wildbill,
I made a simple one from a turkey feather, a block of wood, and an old aluminum arrow.

Took the fletching off the arrow, epoxied the wood block on the arrow, put an eye screw into the center of the block, got a ball bearing swivel, attached 15# test line to the turkey feather and you are in business!

Works good here on the Plains of KS, don't know why it wouldn't work where you are! Probably cost me $3.00, and that was the cost of the arrow!

Good Luck,
Tim
