Youth Hunt Success with Picts

I just wanted to post how happy I am about Ohio's Youth Deer Gun Weekend. This was the 4th year they've held it and my boy's and I had a great time. A good friend sat with the oldest of my sons who went and I coached my youngest boy for his first year. We didn't go home with any venison today but multiple animals were seen. My guys really appreciate these opportunites and so do I.
Then this evening the wife and I made a jaunt to the small town near by to fill up the gas tank. While there about 4 fine upstanding young men were filling up their truck that was already full of two very handsome bucks and a button buck in the back. It was a pleasure speaking with them as they were so excited and pleased to have harvested those beasts. They weren't bragadosius or crass young men but real quality gents. My hat's off to the ODNR for their starting and maintaining this special season. Christopher

You are right the youth seasons the DNR has set up for the kids is a great time for them to get out and hunt.
This is also my fourth year to take my oldest son out and the first year for my youngest son.
On saturday my son Joe 9 years old shot a button button buck and on sunday Andrew 13 years old shot a 6 pointer.
Both of the boys used a .50 cal. muzzle loader.

John,
Good for you and your boys. I'm with you there. This was my 2nd son's 4th season and my youngest son's first. We made the most of the time and Sunday came home with this nice buck. Well worth the effort.

Oh,yes, and my youngest boy got to witness a hawk steal a squirrel out of a tree. Can't see that playing a video game!
