Opinions wanted on Athlon scopes

I know they make several different levels of price, and I assume, quality. Tell me about your experiences pro and con with any of these.

I’ve got several of the Helos BTR 2-12s with the Mil reticle. I’ve run them on everything from .22 cal PCP air rifle to 7 WSM Kimber Montana. They’ve tracked like a champ, I like features like: illumination, pop-up (lockable) turrets, and the 6x mag range.

The only drawbacks are country of origin, and weight.

I have 3 of thee Argos 2-12s two have BDC reticles and one a illuminated dot. I love the large FOV on the bottom end(I like to call them close) and enough Xs for anything I'll be hunting. I can't comment on how they do dialing as I'm a set and forget putting them on rifles I can hold on fur as far as.i want to shoot. They do sight in and move as expected plus hold zero well.

The 2-12 Helos on my .22lr has been dialed hundreds of times. It has tracked as precisely as I can shoot, returns to zero perfectly, and has maintained zero for close to 2000 shots now (a solid 30-40% of which have been dialed).

My Ares ERT has been solid, and I twist a lot on the knobs for the past 2-3 years. I can read mirage and see bullet trace which helps me spot my own misses for second round hits.

I like the glass and coatings better than my Gen 1 Razor and Gen II PST.

I have a Argos 2-12 and I believe a Talos 3-12x40 that are both solid Scopes. I really like the Argos but the Talos is great for a cheaper scope. I also have a pair of Ares Binos that I really like. I don't think you will be disappointed unless you get the cheapest which I think is a Neos or something like that.

I’m a fan of the Athlon scopes. I have a Cronus on my long range rifle and it’s very nice. Just recently picked up a Midas her 2.5-15x 50. Just like the Cronus, it has very good glass (at least to my eyes), and tracking was spot on with the box test. Very hard to beat for the money.

Best kept secret. I have 2 midas tac and a midas tac HD and a Cronus. They are all super clear to me. I am very picky when it comes to optical quality but for the price, you cannot beat it.

Bringing up an older thread here. I have been using Athlon optics for a few years now. On my .308 sits an Ares BTR gen2 2.5-15x50. Super clear, turrets run great. Never lost zero. Lighted reticle is very crisp. Mil reticle is super accurate and Alines well with the turrets. I use an Athlon Ares 15-45 x 65 spotter. I love how clear it is. As well as lightweight in the pack. My buddy took it to Wyoming last year for an Elk hunt. His buddy had the Vortex Viper 15-45 x 65 spotter. They both told me that both spotters were the same level of quality and my friend said he liked the Athlon a touch more. On my ML I run an Athlon Neos 3-9x40 BDC 500 IR. The Neos is their lower end line of scopes and I have had not one single issue with it. All my Athlon optics have performed well ans I am very happy with them.
