Female coyote tonight

First good night we've had this year, finally cooler and dark. 1st stand nothing showed. 2nd stand I howled and the pack cut me off. I went quiet and within 3-4 minutes 1 then 2 more popped out at about 300 yds. The 1st worked her way in a little closer and paused. I hit Vole Squeaks and she came on in to about 50 yds. The other 2 hung back. The grass was so tall that we could not see them all the time. I killed the 1st one and marked her with the laser so we could find her, the other 2 got away. 26.5 lb female.

I thought it was about time the Southside Va killer to make an appearance. Congrats on starting your season 1t. I've been plagued with heat and other issues, but will get one at some point I guess. I did kill one on Sept. 1, but seems like a long time ago now.

It has been hot for sure. I tried one night about a week ago and I called it quits after about 15 minutes. Sweat and mosquitos take the fun out of it.
I should be hunting now but the late sunset makes it hard for my buddies who still work and my wife does not like for me to go solo anymore so I'm kind of waiting for the time change.
Have you heard anything from PaMick? I have not, hope he is doing well.

Pretty good way to start it off. I’ve been hearing some, haven’t been out after them yet. Starting to cool off after dark definitely has got the itch started.

No, I haven't seen him post in quite a while. I expect he has been hammering the walleye, but will get back after the coyotes with some cooler weather.

Congrats....And so it begins, I just washed the camos and charged up all the batteries. Gonna give it another week or 2 and get back out there. " The grass was so tall that we could not see them all the time " THIS ! until our first few frosts up here its tough with the high fields... Good luck to every one this season !!!
