New England Hunt '06?

Telacaster and I are leaving in about 7 hours(12:30am) in hopes to be at camp by noon-ish Wed. to get our lisence do a little scouting and get settled in camp.
We were planning on leaving Nazareth PA heading up to Milford PA and going east on Rt. 84 to Rt. 91 north up to NH and then going North-east on 16 to Eustis but with all the freezing rain they are calling for maybe we should go up Rt. 95 along the coast? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif
Anyone have any suggestions?????

We thought the route to the west (Rt. 91 north) would be better as far as traffic but now I'm not sure with the weather they are calling for.

Can anyone tell me what 16 is like from Rt. 91 Vermont/New Hampshire over into Maine??

Thanks

I cant speak for the other 2 states but the road from errol NH into Oquossoc Me usually isnt the best this time of year! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

We would get off Rt. 91 at St. Johnsbury VT and go east on 2, then 2 merges with 3 and that turns into 110 and then 16 over to 27 to Eustis.
Is Errol NH and Oquossoc Me along this route???
Thanks.

between errol and stratton theres a lot of real good hunting ground to check out....as long as your coming through the mountains in the day light i would take 91 to 2 to 16...look out for the short cut over the hill about 10 miles before errol..i think its 108a or something...its easy to miss..good luck....

Thanks, I'll check it out if we go that way.
Are 2,16 and that shortcut main(tar) roads?? and are they maintained (plowed and salted)??
Thanks.

Man, a lot of people that said they'd show, didn't, including Grinr. This whole thing was his idea. For the people that did show, it was a great time. Just goes to show that on the internet, most people are all talk. Oh well.

Thanks very much to Rodney (Meguide), for all his hospitality. He and many of the locals make me look forward to next year's hunt in Maine.

RJ4,
You could have given me a heads up on your reservation. It could have been a very embarrassing situation for me.

Well fivepak, glad you had a good time.Nobody is more dissapointed than me that due to alot of bad luck and a personal matter that I'm not about to get into here I wasn't able to go.
Yes,this whole thing was my idea which makes it that much worse.I've been looking forward to this since September,my gear was packed since last Sunday, and I had told Rodney I would be a late arrival Friday due to work, but again, something came up that made it impossible.I even considered making the 6 hour drive yesterday, just to "make an appearance",but due to the very depressing and expensive events of late,it just wasn't in the cards for me. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I'm already [beeep]-off and depressed enough about the whole matter, thanks for rubbin'it in.

BTW,I will be contacting Rodney for a list of those that did attend regarding a prize donation I had collected back when I was "all talk",will throw the names in a hat and draw a winner?

Had good intentions, but things happened and I wasn't able to go. Totally fubar weekend I lost a close friend in a motor vehicle accident.

i wish i had more time off ...i didn't find this site on time to set up my work schedule..even had to work saterday..next year i'll take off ...it was so warm..we usually have lots of snow up here and it's cold... thanks rodney.....billy
