This Coyote's on Speed

Frankie, I raised a litter of 6 coyotes until they were 4 years old. There should be a lot of my old posts on the subject in the archives here.

The answer to your question is NO, they can not be "trusted" to ever behave like your typical domestic dog. Their natural instincts makes them impulsive and unpredictable. You should never expect them to develop the same temperment as a domestic dog. But if you can learn to understand and accept their wildness, they can be trained. But unlike a dog, the training must go on forever. It must be reinforced every day. It is not an easy task, but it was something I am glad I experienced.
